Roll up your sleeves and experience life on a 19th century farm throughout the changing seasons! Join the staff of Belle Meade Historic Site as we mark the fall harvest, celebrate the winter holidays, and welcome the coming of spring with hands-on activities and living history vendors from across the state.
Homeschool Days are a great way to connect with other Middle Tennessee homeschool families and to expand your family’s social studies learning!
NEW THIS YEAR: Our Homeschool Days are a part of three special two-day-long events for our community and homeschooling families! Each of the three Friday/Saturday programs will be “come-and-go” style, held from 10:00 am to 3:00pm. Your ticket is good for all day, and does allow your family to visit our grounds, restaurant, and winery (if you choose). Mansion tours, specialty tours, and family tours are not included with Homeschool Day/Family Day tickets, unless otherwise specified.
The only difference between Homeschool Day Friday programs and Family Day Saturday programs is the cost: On Fridays, we will honor our long-standing tradition of offering 1 FREE ticket to a parent-educator per family. On Saturdays, all adults must have a paid ticket.
All programs have outdoor components, and will be held rain or shine. Children must have adult supervision at all times during Homeschool Days. This is not a “drop-off” program; adults are required to stay with students while they are participating in all Homeschool Day activities.
All Programs are Come-and-Go, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Hands-on-Heirlooms: April 14
Welcome the warmer weather and the spring season with us the old-fashioned way, with a new garden and some spring cleaning! Learn about heirloom plants from the Davidson County Master Gardeners and get a head start on your own container garden at our planting station! Meet some beekeepers and discover all about these living heirloom insects! Try your hand at vintage cleaning methods and make your own feather duster, then learn all about antique quilts, why people “air” them out in the spring, and how to care for your own! (This program does not include a guided tour of the mansion; access to the inside of the mansion is not included.)
